Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hey everyone! How are you all??

I'm finally back from travelling in China! Seriously one of the best experiences of my life, I already want to go back!

So some of you may have noticed that I've been changing around my gallery a little. I have moved quite a few older deviations and other works to my scrapbook as I no longer want them to be in my portfolio. I feel as if my work is forever changing, and to be honest I usually get tired of some photos after a few days or weeks! So it's felt really strange for me not to take them down much earlier.
I still love to look back at my older work though, so that's why I am keeping them in the scrapbook section.

I'm hoping to start many more projects this year! I have one particular idea that I'm dying to do if I have the time, but we'll see what happens ^_^
Tafe/college has really been kicking my butt recently (as usual) and I'm finding I have less and less time for experimenting with photography, which really sucks. This is my last year of study though, so I'm really just keen at the moment to finish and get it over and done with.

I'm really wanting to get a little more 'out of the box' with some of my upcoming work, so I'll keep you all posted with how it's coming along.

In the meantime, I thought I'd leave you all with a few photos that caught my eye recently. AMAZING!
